Guide for Preparing Manuscripts Qazanameh Quarterly is a scientific journal of the Deputy for Human Resources and Cultural Affairs of the Judiciary and is published four times a year (spring, summer, autumn and winter). Articles submitted for publication in this journal must not have been previously published in any other journal, nor be under simultaneous consideration elsewhere. The journal does not accept research notes or short articles. All manuscripts must be prepared according to the journal’s template. All parts of the article must be typed on A4 paper (21 × 29.7 cm) with single line spacing, margins of 4.5 cm on the right and left and 5.1 cm at the top and bottom, using Microsoft Word. Authors must prepare and format their articles in full compliance with the journal’s structure, fonts and other settings. Articles that do not follow Qazanameh’s “Guide for Authors” will not be put before the Editorial Board. Only manuscripts containing between 5,500 and 9,500 words will be considered for preliminary review. Authors are advised, as far as possible, to avoid using foreign words. Use of terms approved by the Academy of Persian Language and Literature is recommended. Scientific names, technical terms and other foreign expressions should be given in footnotes. In-text citations normally include the author’s surname, year of publication and page number, directing the reader to the “References” list at the end of the article. Example: (Katouzian, 1378: 12). The APA citation style requires in-text references instead of note or footnote citations. In the main text, the numbers 0–9 are written in words and numbers 10 and above in figures (except in tables, figures, reference numbers at the end of sentences and formula numbering). Section numbering should be as follows: 1., 1-1., etc., with descending font sizes (e.g. “1.” in font size 12, “1-1.” in font size 11, and so on). Note that the Introduction and Conclusion sections are not numbered. The spacing before and after each heading should be set as 12 pt before and 6 pt after (Page Layout → Paragraph → Spacing). In the text, the symbol “%” should be written as the word “percent” (except in tables and figures). Persian and English abstracts must be presented on two separate pages at the beginning of the article. Authors are also required, after acceptance of the article, to prepare an extended abstract in English of 1,500 words and submit it together with the final version of the manuscript. Footnotes should be used only when the author wishes to provide additional explanation. Tables must be right-to-left formatted. Titles of tables, diagrams and figures should be in B Zar 11, and the text inside tables in B Zar 10. Table titles should appear above the table and centred. Titles of figures and charts should appear below them and centred. All tables, charts and figures must be numbered, and the text must refer to them correctly by their numbers. Borders around charts should be removed. There should be no space before a full stop (.), comma (،), question mark (؟) or parentheses (), and one space should be inserted after these marks. The first line of each paragraph should be indented by 0.5 cm. In the Persian abstract, main text, tables and figures, dates should be given in the Solar Hijri calendar; only in the English abstract should dates be given in the Gregorian calendar. In accordance with Article 3 of the “Regulation on Determining Article Processing Charges in Open-Access Scientific Journals” (Notification No. 162229 dated 1/2/1400), the maximum article processing fee that may be charged to authors for each full article in journals whose license holder is a governmental institution (subject to clause 1-1 of the Regulation) is ten million rials. According to the resolution of the Central Council of the Scientific Association of the University of Judicial Sciences, half of the publication costs will be covered by the Association’s financial office. Accordingly: For sending an article to peer review, authors must pay 1,500,000 rials (150,000 tomans). If the article is accepted, authors must pay 3,500,000 rials (350,000 tomans) for issuance of the final acceptance certificate and publication. Payments should be made to card number 6063-7312-6515-7199 (in the name of Mr. Mahdi Bagheri). The payment receipt must be uploaded via the journal’s online system under the file type “image” and also emailed to the journal (judicalsciencejournal@gmail.com) with the article title, article code and corresponding author’s details. (Please note that if an article is rejected by the reviewers, the initial amount of 150,000 tomans will not be refunded to the author.) The different parts of the article should appear in the following order: Identification page and commitment form English title English abstract English keywords Persian title Persian abstract Persian keywords Introduction Main body of the article Conclusion References Each article must be accompanied by a separate page containing: the article title; authors’ details (according to the sample); full name and academic rank of each author; the name and address of the institution where the author(s) are employed; mobile phone number(s) and email address(es) of the author(s). Authors’ signatures on this form are mandatory and signatures by others are not accepted. The “Conflict of Interest” form, the “Copyright Agreement” and the “Commitment Form” must also be printed on one A4 page, signed by the corresponding author, and the scanned copy must be uploaded to the journal website. Note: The institutional affiliation of each author must be entered in Persian and English exactly as in the sample, together with each author’s email address, in the “Authors’ Information” file and at the time of registration. In case of any error in this section, correction or change will not be possible. Sample: هانی حاجیان 1 Hani Hajian 1 Important notice to authors: The article title must be brief, derived from the article’s content and easily understandable to the reader. Abbreviations should not be used in the title or abstract, except for standard scales. The Persian abstract should be presented in a single paragraph of no more than 300 words, and in both Persian and English abstracts the authors’ names and details must be omitted. The abstract must clearly state the problem, purpose, methodology and findings of the research. Keywords should be listed below the abstract; a maximum of seven keywords should be provided in alphabetical order. Words that appear in the article title should not be repeated among the keywords. The first page of the article must contain the English abstract, and the second page the Persian abstract. The English abstract must be a fully specialised and accurate translation of the Persian abstract. The Introduction should be presented on one page. It should review previous research and, in the final paragraph, clearly state the objective of the present study. The main body of the article follows the Introduction and should be organised logically into sections and subsections in accordance with the journal’s style. The results obtained from the article should be summarised at the end in the form of an overall conclusion. Whenever a table or figure is mentioned in the text, it must be placed immediately after the relevant paragraph. In figures and tables, numbers and text must be in Persian (font: B Zar 10). Computer-generated figures, drawings and photographs must be clear and of high quality. Only those sources cited in the text should be listed in the References section, following the instructions below. All references cited in the text must appear here. First list Persian sources in alphabetical order, then English sources, also alphabetically. Numbering should be automatic and in the form 1., 2., etc. Articles Persian article: Katouzian, Nasser. (1384). “Hemayat az Ziyan-dide va Mas’uliyat Tolid-konande dar Hoquq Farānseh” [Protection of the Injured Party and Producer Liability in French Law], Journal of the Faculty of Law and Political Science, No. 68.
